Endview (also called Curtis Farm) provides tours of the plantation. Curtis regained possession of Endview after the Civil War, and his descendants continued to live here until 1985. Union regiments also camped around Endview as part of the Federal occupation of nearby Yorkton. The plantation was used as headquarters by Confederate Generals Lafayette McLaws and Robert Tombs during the beginning stages of the 1862 Peninsula campaign. He commanded the soldiers until May 1862. 32nd Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment in May 1861. Curtis organized Warwick Beauregard's company called H. Humphrey Harwood Curtis, acquired the plantation in 1858. The home was built in 1769 for William Harwood. Take a tour of this plantation and discover the exhibits, Civil War reenactments, and special events held here.Įndview Plantation is a significant historical site in Virginia.
